Evacuation, Escape & Rescue Analysis

Evacuation, Escape and Rescue Analysis (EERA) is applied only to evacuation, escape and rescue from emergencies on an offshore installation.  The objective of the EERA is to assess the adequacy of the Evacuation, Escape and Rescue (EER) arrangements for dealing with emergencies on an installation. 

The EER arrangements cover both the hardware (equipment) provided for escape, evacuation and rescue, as well as the organisational and procedural measures in place to respond to emergencies.

Our methodology consists of:

  • Identification of major accident events which could require evacuation or escape from an installation.
  • Assessment of the event consequences, in terms of impairment of means of evacuation and escape, and performance of life-saving equipment in the prevailing condition.
  • Risk assessment with respect to EER Performance Standards to demonstrate that EER arrangements are not impaired in the prevailing emergency condition. The risk assessment can be quantitative, semi-quantitative or it may be based on purely qualitative judgement.
