Our experience is that primary containment systems have robust asset integrity management regimes which are largely based on preventive maintenance principles. For secondary and tertiary containment systems, the asset integrity programmes are mostly based on the concept of breakdown maintenance. Where there is evidence of a preventive programme, it is usually as simplistic as periodic visual inspection.
